2nd Ordinary Session of WAPCO Board of Directors and ECOWAS ICT Experts Meeting (NIAMEY a€“ NIGER 20 - 24 JUNE 2016)



B. REGISTRATION AND WORKING HOURS: Registration of participants and distribution of documents will commence at the venue of the meeting on June 20, 2016 at 8.00 am. The opening session will begin at 9:00. The proposed working hours are: 9 am to 13:00h and from 14h - 17:30 (local time) may be subject to modification.

C. ENTRY VISA FORMALITIES: Entry into Niamey is subject to presentation of a valid passport, a letter of invitation (if a visa is required) and an international vaccination certificate. Given the security situation, it is required that delegates come along with their biometric passports

D. DETAILS OF DATES OF ARRIVAL AND LOGISTICS: For a good arrangement of transportation to the hotels and the venue of the meeting, delegates are requested to send the detailed information of their flights to the focal point with a copy to WAPCO not later than April 10, 2016. It will be an organized transportation of participants from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport

E. HOTEL RESERVATION: It is recommended that participants process by themselves their hotel reservations through fax or email, and send a copy of the hotel booking to the focal point of the meeting. The booking form and the list of selected hotels are attached. Reservation forms must indicate the day and time of arrival and departure and it should be sent to the hotel of choice without delay.


      1. Currency exchange: Niger is a member of the CFA zone of the Bank of West African States. 1 Euro=656 XOF and 1 DOLLAR equals approximately 604 XOF/USD. Banks are open every working day from 9 am to 15 pm, Monday to Friday. All credit cards are acceptable.
      2. Climate: The climate is Warm during the month of June and the temperature varies between 30?° C and 35?° C.
      3. Electricity: The voltage is 220 volts on the power distribution network of Ivory Coast.
      4. Water: Tap water is safe, however, it is recommended to use bottled water.
      5. Interpretation: The forum is scheduled to be held in French and English. An interpretation service will be provided
      6. Transportation of delegates is from the hotels to the venue of the meeting.
